The Outstanding Partnership Award recognizes an individual who
significantly contributes to advancing the success of MiSPP.
Dr. Lawrence Wentworth, President of Wentworth & Associates, has
been practicing in Detroit's tri-county area for more than 25 years. He is
a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology as granted by the American Board of
Professional Psychology and is a certified advanced addictions counselor.
Dr. Wentworth is a designated specialist in trauma, treatment of anxiety
and sexual disorders, hypnotherapy, EMDR and working with the gay,
lesbian and transgender community. He is also a member of the Board of
Directors of KnowResolve, a non-profit suicide prevention organization,
and regularly volunteers his expertise and resources to local school
systems and the Affirmations Community Center in Ferndale.
Dr. Wentworth is a dedicated, client-centered psychologist who works
tirelessly with MiSPP in the training and supervision of doctoral students,
several of whom are interns at Wentworth & Associates. For several
years Dr. Wentworth has been an active participant in MiSPP's
Internship Training Consortium. By contributing his extensive clinical
and business expertise, he helps to ensure that MiSPP's training program
continues to meet the needs of the mental health community. In
addition, Dr. Wentworth regularly volunteers his time in conducting case
conferences and clinical training seminars.
Nationally, high quality internships are in demand. Through his clinical
training of students, Dr. Wentworth has demonstrated his deep dedication
to developing tomorrow's psychologists. His ongoing commitment to
training and his investment in MiSPP's continued success in
